Daily transit (grah gochar) is the study of where the nine Vedic planets stand in the zodiac at any given moment. Every second, the sky changes: the Moon moves through a new nakshatra every 54 minutes, the Sun shifts sign every 30 days, and slower planets like Saturn hold a sign for 2.5 years. By mapping these live positions against the 12 houses of a horoscope, Vedic astrology reveals which areas of life — career, relationships, health, wealth — are activated, supported, or tested on any particular day.
The KP (Krishnamurti Paddhati) transit chart refines this further. Using the Placidus house system and a precise sub-lord (SL) division of each nakshatra, KP narrows results to a very specific house signification. A planet does not merely transit a sign — it transits a nakshatra lord's domain, and within that a sub-lord's domain. This three-tier RL → NL → SL chain is what the planet cards and table on this page display for every planet and house cusp.
Because house cusps depend on your geographic coordinates and local time, the same sky looks different for someone in Delhi versus Mumbai. Enter your city and current time above to generate an accurate chart for your location.
Daily transit (grah gochar) shows the real-time positions of the nine Vedic planets — Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu, and Ketu — against the zodiac at any given moment. Unlike your birth chart, which is fixed, the transit chart changes continuously and reveals how current planetary energy interacts with each house of the horoscope.
Each of the 12 houses governs a life area (e.g., House 1 = self, House 7 = relationships, House 10 = career). When a planet transits a house, its natural significations blend with that house's themes. A benefic like Jupiter in House 11 can expand income and social gains, while Saturn in House 12 may bring expenses or isolation.
KP (Krishnamurti Paddhati) transit uses the Placidus house system and divides each nakshatra into sub-lords (SL). Rather than judging results by sign alone, KP judges results by the nakshatra lord (NL) and sub lord (SL) a planet occupies. A planet gives results of the houses signified by its NL and SL, making predictions more precise.
RL (Rashi Lord) is the ruler of the zodiac sign where the planet sits. NL (Nakshatra Lord) is the ruler of the nakshatra (lunar mansion) within that sign. SL (Sub Lord) is the ruler of the KP sub-division within the nakshatra. In KP astrology, the SL is the most important: it fine-tunes which house result the planet will deliver during transit.
Each nakshatra has a presiding deity, ruling planet, and unique quality. The pada (quarter) indicates which navamsa the planet falls in, shaping its expression. For example, Moon in Rohini Pada 1 (Aries navamsa) feels more assertive and goal-driven than Moon in Rohini Pada 4 (Cancer navamsa), which turns inward and nurturing. Nakshatra and pada together reveal the quality and texture of the transit result.
In KP astrology, the Ascendant and house cusps shift as geographic location and local time change. While the planetary longitudes (sun, moon, etc.) remain nearly the same worldwide, the house that each planet falls into changes with location. A planet in House 10 for Delhi may fall in House 11 for Mumbai at the same moment. Always enter your actual city and time for accurate house placements.
The daily transit chart shows current planetary positions from a generic rising sign (Ascendant) for the chosen time and place. A birth chart transit compares today's planets against your personal natal chart, revealing how current transits affect your individual houses and planets.
