What is Choghadiya?

Choghadiya is a simple Vedic system that divides the day (sunrise to sunset) and night (sunset to next sunrise) into eight parts each. Every part is ruled by a planet and marked as auspicious or inauspicious, giving you an at-a-glance guide to good and bad times without a full muhurat calculation.

The good and the ones to avoid

Good: Amrit (nectar), Shubh (auspicious) and Labh (gain). Neutral: Char — fine for travel and routine work. Avoid: Rog (illness), Kaal (loss) and Udveg (anxiety). Start important work in Amrit, Shubh or Labh, and avoid beginning anything new in Rog, Kaal or Udveg.
