1. Information We Collect

When you use MahaJyotish ("Service"), we collect:

Birth details — name, date of birth, time of birth, birth place — used solely to generate your kundli report.
Contact details — email address and/or phone number (optional) — used to deliver your report and send relevant follow-up communications.
Payment information — collected via UPI. We do not store card numbers or banking credentials on our servers.
Technical data — IP address, browser type, referring URL — used for security and analytics.

2. How We Use Your Information

To generate and deliver your Kundli report
To send your report via email or WhatsApp (only if you provide these)
To process payments for premium reports
To send follow-up communications about astrology services (you may opt out at any time)
To improve our service quality and user experience

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We share data only with:

OpenStreetMap Nominatim — birth place text is sent only to fetch latitude/longitude for chart calculations.
VastuGuruji (our sister brand) — only if you explicitly request a consultation referral.
Meta Platforms (WhatsApp Business Platform) — if you provide a WhatsApp/phone number, it is shared with Meta only to deliver your Kundli link, PDF report and payment/order confirmations to you over WhatsApp. Such messaging is also governed by WhatsApp's Business Messaging Policy. You can stop these messages at any time by replying STOP on WhatsApp or emailing info@mahajyotish.com.

WhatsApp Communications

If you share a WhatsApp number, we use the WhatsApp Business Platform (provided by Meta) to send you your generated Kundli, its PDF report and confirmations for any payment or report you unlock. We send these only to the number you provide and only for these service purposes — never for unsolicited marketing. Your number and message content are processed by Meta to deliver the messages. To stop, reply STOP on WhatsApp, or request removal via our Data Deletion page.

4. Data Retention

Your kundli data is retained for 2 years to allow you to revisit your chart. Payment records are retained for 7 years as required by Indian tax law (GST). You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing support@mahajyotish.com.

5. Cookies

We use session cookies for admin authentication only. We do not use tracking cookies. Third-party analytics (Google Analytics, if enabled) may set their own cookies subject to Google's privacy policy.

6. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Birth data is stored encrypted in our database. Admin access is password-protected. We follow industry-standard security practices.

7. Your Rights

Under Indian IT Act and applicable privacy law, you have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Opt out of marketing communications
