Reading a Full Chart: The 7-Step Method

You now hold every tool in the course. This final lesson shows the order to use them in — a repeatable method to read any kundli from start to finish without getting lost or contradicting yourself.

A chart can overwhelm a beginner because everything seems to matter at once. The cure is a fixed order of reading. Work these seven steps in sequence and a clear, honest picture emerges every time.

1
The Lagna and its lord. Start with the 1st house sign and its ruler (the lagnesh). The Lagna shows the body and overall direction; where its lord sits and how strong it is sets the tone of the whole life.
2
The Moon (Chandra Lagna). Read the Moon's sign, house and condition for the mind and emotions — then repeat your house analysis from the Moon as a second ascendant. Agreement between Lagna and Moon confirms a reading.
3
Planetary strength. Check each graha's dignity — exalted, own sign, friendly, debilitated, combust — and whether any debilitation is cancelled (Neecha Bhanga). Note which planets are strong enough to deliver.
4
House lords. For each important house, follow its lord to where it sits. This connects topics to outcomes — the 10th lord in the 11th links career to income, and so on.
5
Yogas. Look for Raja Yogas (Kendra + Trikona lords), Dhana Yogas (wealth lords), Pancha Mahapurusha and Gajakesari. These are the chart's headline themes of rise, wealth and character.
6
Aspects (drishti). Add every planet that aspects a house — especially the special aspects of Mars, Jupiter and Saturn — to see the full set of forces on each area of life.
7
The current dasha. Finally, find the running Vimshottari Mahadasha and Antardasha. Whatever the chart promises is switched on by the periods of the planets involved — this is your timing.

Putting it together — a worked sketch

Suppose a chart has Sagittarius Lagna (lord Jupiter) with Jupiter strong in the 1st, the Moon well-placed in the 5th, the 10th lord (Mercury) joined with the 9th lord (Sun) forming a Raja Yoga in the 10th, and the person is currently in a Jupiter Mahadasha.

A grounded reading: a wise, principled personality (strong Jupiter in Lagna), an intelligent and creative mind (Moon in the 5th), and a clear combination for rise in career and status (10th + 9th lords in Raja Yoga in the 10th) — and because the Jupiter period is running, the lagnesh is actively delivering its promise now. Notice how no single factor decides the verdict; the steps reinforce one another.

The grammar to remember

If you forget everything else, keep this one sentence: a planet (who) sits in a house (where) wearing a sign (how), measured from your Lagna (your viewpoint), and is switched on by its dasha (when). Every reading you will ever do is an expansion of that grammar.

You have finished the course. You can now open any kundli and work through it with a method instead of guesswork. The next step is practice — read your own chart, then your family\'s, applying the seven steps until they become second nature.
