Delete Your Data

This page explains how to request deletion of some or all of your personal data from the MahaJyotish app — with or without deleting your account.

1. Delete data yourself, in the app

• Saved charts — open the Saved tab, long-press any Kundli and choose Remove. This deletes that chart from your device immediately.
• Sign out — open Account and tap Sign out to remove your Google session from the device.
• Delete account — open Account and choose Delete account. Your account and everything listed in section 3 is deleted immediately, without emailing us.
• Smriti entries — open any diary entry, photo, voice note or money record and choose Delete. Photos and recordings are removed from our servers with it.

2. Request deletion by email

To delete data held on our servers — either specific items (for example one Kundli) or your whole account — email info@mahajyotish.com from your registered email address, with the subject "Delete my data", and tell us:

• whether you want all your data deleted (account closure) or only specific items, and
• your name and, if relevant, the birth details or chart you want removed.

We verify the request comes from you and complete it within 30 days. You do not need to delete your account to have specific data removed.

3. What is deleted

• Your account and profile (name, email, profile photo from Google sign-in)
• Your birth details — name, date, time and place of birth
• Your saved Kundli charts and reports on our servers
• Your phone number, if you provided one
• Your Smriti diary — entries, daily ratings, intentions, gratitude lines, life events, photos and voice notes
• Your Lakshmi Kosh money records, monthly limit and counted cash
• App usage analytics linked to your account

4. What may be kept, and for how long

We may retain a limited record of completed payments and invoices where we are legally required to (for accounting and tax purposes under applicable Indian law), for the statutory retention period. Such records are minimised and are not used to contact or profile you after deletion. Basic security logs may persist for a short period before rotating out.
