Your Two Core Numbers: Driver (Mulank) & Destiny (Bhagyank)

All of numerology begins with two numbers drawn from your date of birth. Learn to calculate them by hand in a minute — everything else in the course builds on these.

Ank Jyotish (numerology) reduces your birth date to single digits and reads the meaning of those numbers. Two numbers matter most: the Driver (Mulank), which comes from your birth day, and the Destiny (Bhagyank), which comes from your full date of birth. Master these two calculations and you have the foundation of every numerology reading.

1. The Driver Number (Mulank)

Your Mulank is simply the day of the month you were born, reduced to a single digit. If your birth day is already 1–9, that is your Mulank. If it is 10–31, add its digits together.

The Driver number describes your core personality — how you instinctively think, act and meet the world each day. It is the "wheel you steer with."

2. The Destiny Number (Bhagyank)

Your Bhagyank uses your entire date of birth — day, month and year. Add every single digit together, then keep reducing until you reach one digit.

The Destiny number describes your life path — the overall direction, lessons and purpose your life moves toward. It is the "road you are travelling."

Think of it this way: the Driver (Mulank) is who you are day to day; the Destiny (Bhagyank) is where your life is headed overall. A numerology reading always looks at both, and at how well they harmonise.
